Who We Are
During the years I lived in Barbados, I found the fresh markets, sea, and ease of living to be a daily pleasure. Much of my time there was spent cooking with Bajan chefs and visiting artisan workshops, from skilled potters and weavers to ingenious food makers. These experiences shape the way I live today in some form. However, a chance encounter with a talented local craftsman making jewelry by the roadside was a vibrational shift that has forever changed me.
When our eyes met, he managed a smile while gesturing me to sit with him under the warmth of a tropical sunset. I accepted. While getting to know each other, we quickly found common ground conversing about self-healing over beading. That moment planted the seed for Fignoir – a vision to use my lifelong love of handcrafts to create daily touchstones for clarity, wellbeing, and deep consciousness. Welcome to the journey.
What We Stand For
From inception, a quality over quantity principle has guided everything we do at Fignoir. We carefully vet global suppliers that align with our values on ethical sourcing, sustainability, and fair trade. We also prioritized working with family-owned businesses and artisan cooperatives which creates employment and development opportunities for their communities.
While we have access to technology for streamlining our process, we chose to create the collection by hand because we believe that our customers appreciate authenticity as much as we do. We also find that our small batch method allows us to simultaneously control multiple aspects of the production process so only the best of Fignoir reaches your hands. These extra efforts to maintain quality from supply chain to production and final delivery to your doorsteps is how we intend to earn you as a customer.
